The Doria brand started up in Maglie (Lecce) in 1905, from a small laboratory in the center of the city, specializing in the production of berets and clothing owned by the D'Oria family.
The name of the family, and consequently that of the brand, is derived from Oria, city of the Brindisi area that hosted a vibrant Jewish community, among the most prestigious of Europe, between the VII and the X century.
At the beginning of the 1960s, the D'Oria family decided to invest in a new factory on 3 levels, with all-female labor and about 120 employees diversifying focusing on the production of children's clothing and military apparel, specialising in the manufacturing of headgear.
At the end of the 1990s the company was taken over by the Gallo family, from Asti in the Piedmont region, and it became known as "neo.B-Lab". During this new chapter the company remained loyal to the Doria tradition and commitment to high-end artisan production.
At the end of 2012 Neo.B-Lab decided to launch an ambitious project of restyling and relaunch of the Doria brand, renamed Doria1905, in honour of its prestigious history, whose founding principle is the balanced blend between innovation and tradition.
The Doria1905 hat is not a simple hat but a precious accessory, the result of passion, skill and dedication. The brand devotes maximum care and attention to the selection of materials, the finishing of details and the respect for the tradition of Made in Italy.
