Da Vittorio, One of the Stars of Made in Italy

The creative genius of the Cerea family operates in a dream location, just a few kilometres from the chaotic urban centre of Bergamo.

Lombardy has always been one of the most appreciated Italian regions for good cuisine, from the traditional to the most refined dishes. Among its most surprising natural and culinary destinations is Brusaporto, a small town in the Bergamo area that is home to the “green lung” of Cantalupa: 10 hectares of paradise surround Da Vittorio Relais & Chateaux.

Identified among the 220 Historical Restaurants of Italy, Da Vittorio has been delighting palates since 1966 thanks to the teamwork of the Cerea family, which has carried on this tradition for fifty years: the father, Vittorio, the mother, Bruna, and their five children, heirs to a great love for cooking. A custodian of the authentic flavours of Lombard cuisine, in the 60s Vittorio Cerea began his research and culinary experimentation, audaciously introducing seafood cuisine into a territory devoted to the consumption of meat, charcuterie, and cheeses.  Vittorio, a pioneer of the contamination between the flavours and know-how of Italian enogastronomy, today together with his sons, open the doors to innovation.

“Da Vittorio” is an avant-garde kitchen because it is changeable. In fact, good food changes with the seasons, with the palates and with the inspirations, originated every day by the Bergamo tradition. A cultural legacy that the Cerea siblings welcomed and absorbed and that, over the years, they have helped to create.

The beauty of Italian cuisine is in its variety: in every region that you go to and the flavours that you find. And so, in the name of Food in the Italian way, the Cerea siblings choose regional excellences from the great Italian pantry as their raw ingredients: scampi from Mazara del Vallo, Alba truffles, and so on.

A family of champions who combine the raw ingredients originating from different places with harmony and freedom as a result of endless study and research.

This and many others the reasons that brought the Cerea family “to the stars”. Three to be exact: the first in 1978, the second in 1996 and the long-awaited third Michelin star in 2010.

The creative genius of the Cerea family operates in a dream location, just a few kilometres from the chaotic urban centre of Bergamo. The surrounding countryside, greenery and silence contribute together to create a peaceful atmosphere and accompany the diner to fully enjoy a flavour experience. Cantalupa also offers a tennis court, a soccer field and two natural lakes to its many visitors from all over the world.

Da Vittorio Relais & Chateaux is also a Residence: a charming inn with only ten splendid rooms, different but all rigorously elegant and comfortable to offer a sophisticated stay in a rural landscape.

As good Italian artisans, the Cerea family has exported the unique style of their culinary art abroad. Da Vittorio St. Moritz and Da Vittorio Shanghai are two satellite restaurants, linked to the family project of quality Italian cuisine, as well as places where not only flavours but also hospitality, conviviality and interior style are exceptionally Made in Italy.

Da Vittorio is a Michelin-starred and award-winning restaurant with an Italian history like many others, on which it has built its uniqueness: one of the simple ones, in which the family is the concrete point of strength, the beating heart that maintains this excellence with commitment and maternal dedication.
